I feel like sourdough bread/starter is a good contender for a modern god of baking and hospitality, it's recent popularity has driven people to make multiple unique flavors of bread most people have never seen and through that popularity it brings people together to keep the god alive by feeding flour to their starter as an offering for bread that rises well and bakes perfectly
