Recipe: Smothered Pork Chops with Onion Gravy
Ingredients
4 bone-in pork chops
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons oil
1 large onion, sliced
2 cups chicken broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon dried thyme, optional
Directions
Season pork chops with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Lightly dredge chops in flour.
Brown in hot oil for 3–4 minutes per side. Remove from skillet.
Add onions and cook until softened.
Stir in 1 tablespoon flour and cook 1 minute.
Slowly add broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme.
Return pork chops to skillet.
Cover and simmer 20–25 minutes, until tender.
Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans.
