I agree that most movies don't need a reboot. But reboots work because most people refuse to watch anything that is not new

Why does disney think that they need to do this to existing media, why not just do a original story that can be inspired by holes.

I dont see why everything has to be a reboot instead of its own story. you could even make it in the same universe just in a different place with new people. but thay requires taking a risk and they want to play it safe by selling what youve already baught. though risking a brand new project would probably fair better with the people than twisting an existing loved one into something unrecognizable

Considering holes has a semi sequel then the show could have been very interesting. I think if you stuck to the original premise then it could have worked.
