According to the art book the diamonds were only created 20,000 years ago so it definitely wasn’t millions but yeah she could’ve been locked up for hundreds of years at a time.

I’d assume 6000 years of pink missing wasn’t a long time, but had a huge emotional impact on the diamonds. So pink might as very well have stayed there for like 10K years even.

holy larping... the diamonds are nowhere near million years old. though we didn't see the backstory there's evidence in the official artbook that they're roughly 20k years..

btw everyone saying they are 20,000, they are at LEAST 20,000 and thats likely a huge underestimate. I would say at least 500k - 1million years old at least.

I wouldn’t say MILLIONS, but definitely tens of thousands of years, it’s kinda unclear how gems perceive time, but I’d say it’s also possible that they literally don’t have a sense of time, like what’s too long and what’s too short

I think 6,000 years is more of like a week in gem time, So I'd say pink diamond was probably locked in that tower for about a few months at a time and that would be like an hour to them

We are taking the scene out of context. Yellow only jokingly agreed to spinel because it was something heart warming, spinel was joking about a trauma that she had which the diamonds in a way related to. If 6 thousand years was nothing then it why does blue for an example bring out the time that pink was gone as a large sum of time. “-what years of grief have done to me” as we also know that grief doesn’t change a person seconds to a months. She clearly made it known that said grief affected who she is now. Also the misconception that time doesn’t mean anything for those who have lived for a long time seems weird to me because we can argue that living for a long time could make a chunk of it insignificant bcs of the lack of meaning in it. They clearly had a goal as diamonds so I don’t think that time moves any faster from their perspective.
