Check your clamp that’s under the shifter connecting to the rod that goes to the gear selector/ monoball. And check the monoball too.

It ain’t synchros, you can’t blow two separate gears’ synchs. Check the shifter linkage.

Maybe leaking valve cover gaskets or blow by, especially if it’s fouling just a single cylinder. Oil is getting to the top of that piston somehow. Maybe pvc issues but I’d definitely boroscope that cylinder and check for oil sitting on top of that piston.
