He’s been alone for a long time because the zombie apocalypse and talking to mannequins makes him feel normal, he has mannequin set up all around the city, but they never move unless he moves himself, but in that scene he’s driving around and finds one of the mannequins from really far away all the way over in the main city, meaning that the zombies are smart enough to mess with him and know that he’s there
