Actually, I think that no matter the situation, if you really cared for that person at any point (unless it was really something serious to the point where it’s obvious you’re no longer friends) I think it’s important to talk to them honestly and objectively about what they did wrong so that they know what not to do in the future (even with other friends) and so that they have a chance to explain themselves to you, and then you can decide whether or not you accept their apology and if you think it was genuine. If after that you still don’t wanna be friends, sure.
