Here’s the thing I find interesting tho. Sometimes islanders forget that they’re on camera and they start to act like how they would irl (as shown by movie night, when the things they say are played back and they seem surprised, even tho they know they’re being observed). I think this is a good parallel to our modern life, where we r hyper aware that everything that we do is constantly tracked (location services, social media comments, street cameras, etc) that we almost forget that it is happening until it is thrown in our faces. I feel like it’s honestly a good microcosm of our modern surveillance state
