@connealymd: A French study published in PLOS Medicine found that higher consumption of food additives—specifically emulsifiers—was associated with an increased risk of several cancers. Researchers followed more than 92,000 adults for nearly seven years and found that notably, mono- and diglycerides (E471)—found in many baked goods, margarine, ice cream, and packaged foods—were associated with a 15% higher risk of overall cancer, a 24% higher risk of breast cancer, and a 46% higher risk of prostate cancer. Carrageenan (E407) was associated with a 32% higher risk of breast cancer. This study adds to growing evidence that diets high in ultra-processed foods may negatively impact long-term health. One of the best things you can do for your health is choose whole, nutrient-dense foods and read ingredient labels. Small, intentional choices every day can have a significant impact!

Whats wrong with sunflower lecithin? I thought it was extracted without hexane, unlike soy, and wasn’t detrimental to gut health?
