@nansplainer: Jeff Bezos made enough in a single day to cover the $14.2 million Amazon spent fighting its own workers’ right to organize. That figure comes from Department of Labor filings. The surveillance program monitoring workers’ private Facebook groups came from a Senate letter. The bottles are documented. This is Episode 2 of my series on how exploitive wealth gets built and protected. Start anywhere. #BillionaireBlueprint #WorkersVsWealth #FollowTheMoney

The biggest misnomer I think that is said about human beings is that if we know better we do better. This is not true. If we know better, we have an opportunity to do better. that does not mean that we will take this opportunity.

Billionaires built more than “some” of these companies, but nevertheless, everyone has the right to unionize if they want to and without interference.

Billionaires are just a symptom of a larger systemic problem - unregulated and unchecked end stage capitalism

And don’t forget that these big companies who don’t pay well are actually fine with the government supplementing the salaries of their low pay workers with things like food stamps etc.. We “the people” supplement their companies.

I worked for Target for years until I left in 2016. They had managers trained on anti-union propaganda which I would be interested in seeing how much money they spent on this as well. There are so many companies who have done this...

We have to start taxing on a more appropriate scale. There’s no reason why these people get away with paying zero dollars in federal income tax taxes yet the average person has to scrape up money and pay there has to be tax reform and then the tax money has to be put back into our communities in infrastructure

w.t.f... I work for Amazon in KS. if you only knew my story and how dirty they have been treating and still are, as I am trying to return to work, after two work injuries, with the second one taking 3 surgeries, and a 9 month benefit denial, that cost me everything I had built up to, you would be absolutely shocked. I lost my biological family, my wife and the family I was building, all my resources, finances, became homeless, with no transportation, and dealing with the mental health issues it all has cost... and there is so little help anywhere! I know so many coworkers who have also been injured, screwed over by amazon's work, comp system and lawyers, and had to keep their jobs work injured and gotten re-injured and are still made to foot the bill. and honestly, I don't think anything is gonna change until the consumers demand change for the employees who are working their a**** off, putting their families and their health in jeopardy, just trying to make a living, in me, at these uppers, don't give a c*** about the lowers. I will say they do have the best pay. And the best benefits in my state, as a warehouse associate. but the physical labor, energy, cost of personal and familial life, let alone if you're an overnight employee, like I am, trying to make a few bucks by sacrificing working ten hour shifts, which actually cost you about sixteen hours, severe sleep disruption, because the company actually cares more about its metrics and it really does about employees, no no matter how they wanna try to sugarcoat, it. The wealth distribution in energy, health, time, societal impact, it's so so so much more, is so far off it's not even funny. I'd left a job that had gotten me to the best point i've ever been in my entire life being able to provide for not only myself put my family, children, and parents, to go work for Amazon because I thought it was gonna be a better opportunity to move me up faster in the world And the way I desired and in the ways the world needs that I can provide. But I can honestly say, so far working for amazon has destroyed literally every single area of my life did I build up to this point. in just like a narcissist, wishes to fight
