visenya isn't a complex character just because she rides a dragon and wields a sword, btw. she's written more like a legendary figure than a psychologically nuanced character. we barely get any insight into her inner struggles in the books, whereas we do with alicent. i'd even argue that alicent is one of the most complex characters in the entire series.

I strongly dislike HotD. God forbid a woman can make a morally grey or even evil decisions. They just watered them down to boring, always morally good "characters" without any depth or flaws. Its why i love Aegon II in the show, he is flawed and that makes him interesting to me.

GRRM actually wrote complex women but in tv show they just feel insecure and fragile which is not a bad thing in itself. The problem is the need to make them dull, it's weird
