@inkdyou: Reasons why you should wait before getting coverup… 1. Always make sure you pick the right artist (me) for something like a cover up. •It takes time, precision and the right person to really pull off a cover up. 2. Your tattoo may not be fully healed. •The top layer heals within weeks. But the deeper skin layers can take more time. It’s important to be patient and not rush to cover it up. This will end up doing more harm. 3. You might not need a cover up. •Depending on what it is, sometimes the piece just needs to be brought back to life and reworked into a different design. 4. There are better designs within time. •A fresh tattoo limits what an artist can do. It’s darker initially and the skin is more sensitive. Allowing time creates a better design, and better result. 5. Rushing =more expensive later on • if a cover up is done too early, it might heal poorly, the ink might not hold and then you may need ANOTHER fix. Good tattoos take patience.
