Rare disagree with you here, it was incredibly obvious this is who he was. It genuinely boils down to the sheer apathy and dehumanization of groups who live under the thumb of US imperialism. What he did to that white woman was atrocious, but no more atrocious than what we ALREADY know he's done overseas. Liberals have a right to be smug about this ngl but it is super annoying. Like yeah, you’re right, my belief in forgiving even bad people was taken advantage of multiple times by a guy to the point of me no longer offering said grace. I don’t think that’s a bad thing though, maybe I’m radical but I do value forgiving people even really awful people so long as they show genuine change. The more things came out about him, the less changed he was.

His time as a "mercenary" was spent on embassy protection detail if I recall correctly. If anything had been an actual red flag it would have stuck. These allegations are completely new information and it's appropriate to reassess with new information. What we don't need to do is pretend we saw this coming and were always right and deserve internet morality points or something. We don't get to scrutinize for the violence they were told to commit by politicians we don't hold to the same standard. So I'm not going to pretend anything leading up to this was a clear indication of a problem nor were they red flags in themself.
