It’s harsh that you lose money if something isn’t in stock. It isn’t your fault it isn’t in stock. It still took you the same time, if not longer as you’re checking everywhere for items.

This is why I tip just a dollar amount, I try not do a percentage of my order. It’s not the shoppers fault if items are out of stock and I don’t have a substitution. The only time I do a percentage is if it’s a fairly large order because I find the shoppers around here tend to do a lot of refunds on larger orders. Especially if they don’t think it’s gonna affect the tip. I once did a Costco order but before I placed it, I called to make sure 2 items were in stock as it wasn’t a common item they carry. They confirmed they had tons in stock. Shopper attempted to refund them almost immediately after starting the shop. I informed the shopper I called the Costco and they confirmed it was in stock and ask him to please check again, he ended up getting them. One was a heavier item so I’m assuming that’s why he tried to refund it. Also, I was at an airb&b and it was surrounded by apartment buildings so I’m guessing he saw that and didn’t wanna chance to have to come up to an apartment. Anyway, now that I’m done writing a novel, if anyone is still reading this, I hope you’re having an amazing day and good things come your way!

I’m from the UK but it might be silly of me to ask.. why does items out of stock in the store effect how much you’ll get paid for the order if essentially isn’t it the dashers fault?
