We all say we can’t wait to grow up, but no one ever tells us how much it will hurt once we do. We regret growing up because time flew by faster than we ever realized. The days that once felt endless became memories before we had the chance to appreciate them. We miss waking up on Christmas morning with pure excitement, running to the tree without a single worry in our minds, believing that those magical moments would last forever. We miss sitting with our families watching the same Christmas movies every year, laughing at the same scenes, feeling the warmth of home, never thinking there would come a day when those nights would only exist in our memories. We would give anything to go back, even for just one more day, to hear those voices, feel that happiness, and experience the little moments we took for granted. Growing up isn’t just about getting older—it’s about slowly watching pieces of your childhood disappear until all you have left are memories that make your heart ache. Time never slows down, no matter how badly we beg it to, and that’s one of the saddest parts of life. If we had known those were the days we would miss the most, we would have held onto every Christmas morning, every family movie night, every laugh, every hug, and every second just a little longer. Now all we can do is look back, smile through the tears, and wish we had realized we were living the moments we would one day spend a lifetime missing.
