I wanna wear headphones but I also get paranoid when I cant hear fully. I haven't really found a good alternative yet. I did like loop earplugs but they are SO expensive and easily lost.

When Covid hit I grocery shopped early at Walmart bc they have low sensory hours(no music, soft lights, no TVs on display playing crap). That plus a mask, sunglasses, and ear buds were my saving grace to learning how to navigate this. Congrats to you!🫶

I work at a grocery store and i won’t shop anywhere else lol. I’m not as anxious simply because I know where everything is and who is there 😭

I’m so proud of you! I def can relate. I used to not be bothered by grocery shopping but since moving out last year I realized how anxious it can def make you feel, and trigger my over spending habits .

I’ve started using the grocery pick ups and that has been so helpful for me with my Autism. When I do go into the store, I bring my headphones and sometimes a fidget toy. Physically being the store slowly makes me increasingly angry cause I’m so overwhelmed

i do every single thing listed in this video!!! i still don't go alone typically but these are all key to survival. i also have the peak times memorized so i can go and not get overwhelmed. accomodations for the win!!!!

I’m autistic…every time I go to a grocery stores, I feel like everyone is watching my every move—especially when checking out (like I am paying for everything I got but it makes me feel like I’m stealing the way people/workers stare at me)…
