@jasiminewhitescarver: I absolutely love my job and all the babies, but it does get overwhelming when all of them are crying at once or are on the same schedule trying to feed multiple babies at the same time or trying to change a diaper while another baby is screaming there heads off and the crawler is crawling all over the other babies or trying to hit them while your changing a diaper on top of that trying to get activities ready so we can have art work up on the walls and follow the curriculum. No one honestly understands how it is to be an infant teacher, but regardless I love it and wouldn’t want to be in any other position. ❤️ #daycareworker #infantteacher ##teachervibes##fyp
and then you have people who want to work infants because they believe its the easiest 😅😅 until you get in there and realize there is SO much that goes into it. I love being an infant teacher but it's Def not flr everyone

and then you have a coworker that never leaves the chair so you're basically taking care of all 8 by yourself 🤦♀️

I feel this so deep. I used to go to the gym 4/week after work or friends HH etc as a preschool teacher, I’m now infant lead teacher and I love my job and babies but never realized why that shift/spark in me faded!! Sooo much demand physically and mentally! But my heart when they teach for me, smile at me, and then say my name!!! (My Precchool groups so my class age range is 2months -2 years).

Only other infant teachers know! The level of overstimulation and burnout you get from the absolute nonstop needs is enough to drive you nuts! However, I wouldn’t wanna work with any other age group. Been doing this for about 15 years now. Noise reducing earbuds do help! Love my loop earbuds.

If the people only knew what daycare workers do and go through as well as how much we love those babies.

I think every early childhood teacher should be able to care for one class from infants to k readiness then start over with another class so the burn out doesn’t occur you get to experience all the age groups.

THIS!! I absolutely LOVE my babies. We are 1:5 ratio so we have 10 babies to 2 teachers. 6wks to about 15months in the same room is ruff sometimes. Totally different needs at the same time.

Daycare isn’t for the faint of heart. 4 to 1 ratio is too much or not enough care for littles. This is why (JMO) moms should stay home at least the first three years as paid maternity leave.

And your family doesn’t understand why you tell them they’re being too loud, even if it is in fun and play!

I work 10 hours with toddlers. Its screaming, crying, tantrums, and fighting each other every day all day. Of course I don't want to do anything after work. I'm mentally and physically exhausted.

Fr 😭 I’m due with my first baby in November and I’m so looking forward to the break that mat leave will bring. I’ll be tired, hormonal, and leaking, BUT at least I’ll only have to listen to 1 baby cry 😭🙌🏻

Infants is SO hard. With toddlers and pre-k you can walk in and easily be trained on potty training, diapers, etc. With infants you have to have so much more knowledge about care and development. And it's so physically and emotionally demanding
