Goals have been called back by VAR before. Nobody is denying that. But this exact situation is different. The referee appeared to have a clear sight of the play, allowed it to continue, VAR went back around 21 seconds, almost the full length of the pitch, and cancelled Egypt’s goal after a complete counterattack. That is not a normal VAR correction. That looks like re-refereeing the game after the fact.
