It’s a horrible use of VAR. Once the ref let the play go, you can’t go back and review a play that far back.

If VAR is determining the outcome of plays for some players or teams but isn’t being applied equally to everyone, that’s not officiating, it’s deciding games. The integrity of competition is being compromised by FIFA. Period.

IF THE REFFEREE DOES NOT CALL A FOUL ON THE FIELD. VAR SHOULD NOT IMPACT IT!!! Use VAR for off sides or hand balls or making sure a call went the right way is someone didn’t flop.

If Egypt didn't score? There would've never been a call for a foul... the entire length of the field play, byplay, and it wasn't until they scored did they call foul. Egypt won.

This is not a zero contact sport, this rule is splitting hairs. That was a soft touch and very inconsequential to the goal. Egypt deserves that goal

He is missing the point. It’s a rule ok. But it’s implementation is inconsistent and it’s only applicable when it benefits certain team. That’s all.

So what was the point of Egypt scoring that goal? Why didn’t the ref stop the game, whistle and give possession to Argentina. Disallowing a goal is insane for a foul that was committed a minute before the goal. There will always be be a foul to go back to. If the ref missed it the game needs to continue, var can find any little touch a call it a foul if it fits the script and fifa shows us whatever they want to show us.
