@theartcoach: Tap the link in my bio to start the drawing drills course. One of the biggest mistakes artists make is jumping straight to finished drawings. Instead, spend time mastering the building blocks. In this exercise, everything starts with one simple form: the cone. First you learn to draw it from different angles. Then you start recognizing it in everyday objects. Finally, you use that same cone as the foundation for an entire scene, transforming it into a volcano erupting with a massive plume of smoke. That’s the power of simplified shapes. When you truly understand a form, it stops being just a cone. It becomes a visual tool you can reshape into hundreds of different objects and environments. The goal isn’t to memorize how to draw a volcano. The goal is to understand the cone so well that a volcano becomes one of countless possibilities.
