@rachlvalente: the sunroom has been a tricky space to work with, but I just KNOW it could be so good with the right additions! let me know your thoughts 🌞 #sunroom #homeoffice #diyprojects #renovationproject #diyideas
Something like this! Just found a pic off Pinterest but shelves would be cute!

My suggestion since you’re already going to have to do some modifications to the wall I would spackle over the stucco and see what kind of texture you come up with . I also like a window but if you want more privacy, I would drywall it.

They sell little containers of premixed stucco and it’s really cheap and not that hard to match a funky texture like the one you have. I say arch it and match the stucco texture on the corners

Your ceilings don’t look over 8 feet tall, personally, I don’t love arched doorways with regular height ceilings. I feel like they lower your eye sight . I would leave the opening as is and maybe do nicer molding around it so it doesn’t look like a regular door frame but more elevated.

“Arch” with large corbels in the corners of the doorway. If you need the light, do a transom window with a bookcase below on one or both sides

Love the idea of the arch entrance. Can you cut down the French doors and make them windows panels for extra lighting. That way you lower the cost . I don’t know the measurements of the open window or French doors but if it’s possible. It would look so nice you can open the French doors and make window panels for easy cleaning from the inside. Just my idea!

You can look up the permits on your county extension office. It’s fairly easy to see if it’s a legal extension or not. If it is then you can go from there on what you can do. Realistically any changes you make to the space could affect how it’s insured if you do it prior to checking

What about moulding like you have in your second inspo photo? It’ll easily make the transition from stucco to arch seamless and chic

I had this same issue too! I would go the extra mile and close off the window hole and do the arch and somehow make the texture all the same. We ended up dry walling over the window cuz it made sense for us but if you do wanna keep it for light I’d do real glass with grids!
