@stephaniesublettmd: One of my favorite parts of menopause care is watching the relief on a woman’s face when she realizes the answer is often much simpler than she expected. These are three questions I answer almost every day: • Can I use vaginal estrogen if I’m already on estrogen therapy? • Do I need progesterone if I’m using vaginal estrogen? • Why would I need vaginal estrogen if my hot flashes are gone? The common thread? Hormones are not “all or nothing.” Different hormones serve different purposes, and different tissues have different needs. The right treatment plan depends on your symptoms, your goals, your medical history, and your stage of menopause. Education is one of the most powerful tools we have.
