@thedormguide: It’s really up to personal preference except when… You have a fully lofted bed. I don’t recommend using larger comforters on a fully lofted bed because they tend to shift and get stuck in bed rails, plus it’s already hard enough to make a fully lofted bed! Why go bigger?  For non-lofted beds, a full/queen comforter drapes further down the sides, covers more of your under-bed storage, and gives your bed a more finished look. Plus, you’re more likely to be able to reuse it when moving to off-campus housing with larger beds. Just know it may be a little harder to launder and can be a little harder to move out of the way. 💡 Pro tip: check your closet at home first. You probably don’t have Twin XL bedding lying around, but a full/queen comforter you already own can absolutely make the trip to college.
