@witholaf: Kate Winslet has always done things her way. As a young actress starting out, she was criticized for not following the Hollywood norm of being skeletal thin, but she refused to diet. As she has grown older, the actress, who turned 50 this month, has eschewed the Botox and facelifts that dominate her world. Instead, she says: “I am proud of my wrinkles. They tell the story of my life, of who I am and where I have been.” Even today, with plenty of awards under her belt, including an Oscar, she’s still fighting to look like the ordinary woman she insists she is. This commitment to realism was fully on display during the filming of Lee, a biographical drama about the pioneering World War II photojournalist Lee Miller. While shooting a scene in a swimwear outfit, a crew member approached Winslet and suggested she sit up straighter so her stomach wouldn't crease on camera. She firmly shut down the request to hide her natural body, replying: “So you can't see my belly rolls? Not on your life!
