My classmate was vice chairman for 15 years. He did a great job and our tribe flourished. His last speech to our membership was this; “I’ve been a fisherman all my life and all I caught for the last fifteen years was hell.”

I concur, I had the opportunity to be one of our tribal leaders for 12 years, I did the best I could and got some positive things done, with the help of our other leaders. I lost my friendship with close relatives which was one of the reasons I decided to not run again, it's sad when one of my relative said she can now be my relative again after I finished my last term. I no longer communicate with her because of her thinking, I felt I should share, pilamiya la!

Hello Brother, I'm so proud of you and grateful for you and how you continue to communicate with all of us! I try to watch all your posts and truly enjoy the informative information you share with what's going on for the Cheyenne and Arapoho tribs, and all around our country as well! You are truly a blessing for me. I am Cheyenne and have been raised off the reservation of our people, my family was taken from our people after the battle of the greasy grass and then they took the children and gave them to the boarding school. Any way I wish I could connect with my real roots with my people but just not sure how to go about it. Any how keep up the good work and continue being humble and true in all you do. "Action speaks louder than words" and when your actions are good and honorable your community will share it! Continue on doing you with Love, Respect, Patience, Forgiveness, Grace, Peace and always in Love!
God Bless you and your family always! aho!!!!

I am not a member of the Cheyenne Arapaho tribe, but I am a member of a tribe that has made great strides in my lifetime. I grew up very near your tribe and have seen the struggles. I have seen your people making strides , and while it is difficult, your people are doing it. It is wonderful to watch all of our tribes making a difference.

Your courage to be a leader is admirable. I’m not in a leadership position but I have roles within my own family structure and I can relate to the constant lateral oppression and focus on my shortcomings. 😅 I live rent free in their minds. lol! You’re doing great as a leader within our C&A government. Those people will never look at how much improvement we’ve had.

Proofs in the pudding! Ya have almost a whole term to show you can make significant change. No matter what attitude your people bring, always keep your door open and willing to listen. Try not to take it personal. They are only reacting towards what they have come to know based on previous experiences. I can imagine they are looking for a miracle. It takes more than one term to make change over something that has existed for more than one generation. May you complete your term w/their gained respect, achieve knowledge of the true inner workings & maintain a positive perspective.

Can’t sweat the small things. Just part of politics that elected officials go thru no matter who they are. Let’s you know who are real and who aren’t. You alls doing good and just got to roll with the punches and keep putting one foot in front of the other. Have a good day.

Politics naturally creates division. The idea of working with people you don’t agree with has been long gone. We now have football teams that shout down the other side because you’re wrong.
