Foreign investors enter and exit markets based on their own financial strategies and investment objectives. An outflow doesn't automatically mean something negative.
Have you analyzed what happened from February onwards? Most international markets declined due to the Middle East crisis. At the same time, many investors expected bond yields to rise, so capital moved from equities into the bond market. Have you looked into that? And now that bond yields are starting to come down, have you analyzed where that money is likely to flow next?
Have you also considered the impact of oil prices? When oil prices were high, they negatively affected economic sentiment and, naturally, equity markets. Now that oil prices are coming down and the current account could move into a surplus, have you analyzed how that might positively affect the equity market?
Every time you transfer money from your savings account to another account, you submit a transfer request too. Have you ever noticed that? A transfer request by itself doesn't tell the whole story context matters.
Don't be negative all the time. If you only look for negative signals, everything will appear negative. Markets are cyclical, and every dark cloud has a silver lining. It's important to analyze both the risks and the opportunities instead of discouraging people with only half the facts.
I'm saying this from my own personal experience. Out of curiosity, what type of investments have you actually made in the stock market? Personally, I have earned a decent profit from investing in the stock market because I focus on understanding market cycles rather than reacting to every headline.
Bro we are small country you think we can bear a big forex outflow and make capital control the country. if it happens citizens suffer

Sri Lanka’s stock market is smaller than many Asian markets, but it has several strengths that make it attractive to long-term investors.
Sri Lanka’s strengths compared with many Asian markets
1. Attractive valuations ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
* Many quality companies trade at relatively low Price-to-Earnings (P/E) and Price-to-Book (P/B) ratios.
* This gives investors the opportunity to buy businesses at reasonable prices compared with markets like India.
2. High dividend yields ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
* Many listed companies regularly pay attractive dividends.
* It is common to find quality stocks yielding 5–10% or more, which is higher than in many Asian markets.
3. Strong blue-chip companies ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Sri Lanka has well-established companies in sectors such as:
* John Keells Holdings
* Commercial Bank of Ceylon
* Hatton National Bank
* LOLC Holdings
* Dialog Axiata
Many of these companies have operated successfully for decades.
4. Good long-term growth potential ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Sri Lanka is in an economic recovery phase. If GDP, tourism, exports, and foreign investment continue to improve, listed companies could benefit through higher profits.
5. Easier to identify opportunities ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
With fewer listed companies than larger exchanges, investors can research a greater proportion of the market without needing to analyze thousands of stocks.
6. Lower correlation with major global markets ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
The Colombo market often moves differently from large markets like the US or Japan, providing diversification for international investors.
7. Improving macroeconomic environment ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Compared with the crisis period, Sri Lanka has made progress in:
* Lower inflation
* Greater exchange-rate stability
* Improving foreign exchange reserves
* Recovering tourism
* Stronger export performance
These trends generally support corporate earnings.
Comparison with selected Asian markets
Market Main Strength Sri Lanka’s Advantage
India Fast growth, many listed companies Lower valuations and often higher dividend yields
Pakistan Low valuations Greater macroeconomic stability in recent years
Bangladesh Large manufacturing sector Broader sector diversification
Vietnam Rapid economic growth Higher dividend-paying cultu
