as a welder, it will not hold, theres no way to prevent the rest of the material from doing the same exact thing. i also hope who ever is welding that they have a quick escape route and getting paid very veryyyy well

It’s not a beam. It’s a column. Beams are horizontal members columns are vertical members.

That will only be a temporary measure. The building will be closed for a period and designs redrawn for structural reinforcement, material / plant removal and loading, possibly removing some renovations and more. It could cost the designers, main contractor and client millions in damages / fines. I am in site management 😊
