Jorge made it with even more fantasy that the poem, and thats the charm, its a retake for see the oddysey with a epic filter and has helped people have curiosity fot read the poem. anyway JUSTICE FOR EPIC

I think the difference between Epic and Nolan’s The Odyssey is how the treat the lore. Neither is accurate, that’s true, but Epic comes across as a love letter to the story. It captures the heart of the story. I feel like Nola. Treated the Odyssey as just another war story. It’s missing that emotional connection.

I had a nightmare a few days ago that I was watching the Nolan Odyssey and realized they were using songs from Epic but trying to pretend they made it. I was so upset when I woke up.

probably because Jorge said Epic is not accurate to the actual Odyssey and that creative liberty was taken while Nolan claims if was historically accurate. wich is just a lie.

Which is funny cause a lot of people are angry at nolan for the inaccuracies but Jorge said it himself that Epic is not accurate at all 😂😂😂 THE MUSIC JUST SLAPS!

Not a hot take, EPIC is a master piece. Jorge did an insanely good job. As an Odyssey fan it was very well done. It is insanely impressive how well he kept the story and themes, while changing it just enough to make it easy for a modern audience to be able to connect with its story. I have been a fan of the odyssey since I was 11, I don't know how much I wished for a good adaptation of it. Jorge gave me that. I can not wait to see what he does with the animated film, and I can not wait for the illium one he is working on now.

Even tho they are both inaccurate epic is actually more accurate than the movie and that’s insane that a campy musical beats an insanely produced film. Passion projects will always capture the heart of the source because it’s driven by heart

Epic is loosely based on the Odyssey. LOL They changed a bunch and was a fun project. Heavy on the fun! Which makes a huge difference because everyone in it was there to have a great time not for a paycheck.

Fun fact for the people screaming about it being a nothing burger/being changed too much: Jay is very clear about changing the story to make Odysseus a good man considering he WAS considered that way when the story was first told. He’s also clear with his changes and where he would’ve gone to make it accurate if he had the time. You can tell he’s passionate about the Odyssey.

I think another reason Epic might be taken better is because it's independent, and is very clearly made with tons of passion from everyone involved. Nolens is insanely expensive and has much more production going into it, meaning that expectations are higher. I'm not planning to watch it because everything I hear about the changes story makes me less interested.
