I’m so happy my parents thought the orthodontist was crazy when they heard 4 of my healthy teeth would need to be pulled when we went for a consult. They declined.

For god sake I’m sick of you general dentists not understanding ortho treatment planning well enough spreading these fear mongering stories to the public who already hate us. Extractions are a very valid treatment option for people. Not everybody has room for expansion or has too much crowding for IPR. Sometimes 4 extractions is the only option without having surgery.

Please continue to make videos on this subject. We need support from dental professionals, openly talking about the real impacts of extraction/retraction ortho. Victims like myself are talking about this and getting abuse every single day for sharing out story. 4x premolar extraction ruined my life by causing further facial recession, TMJD, postural pain and sleep apnea.

I had my 4 premolars removed after having spacers AND an expander. My mouth was just too small. All wisdom teeth had to be removed for crowding as well

I had 4 premolars removed also and it completely f**ked my bite. I’m so upset about it still. I’ve spent thousands trying to fix it with Invisalign but it’ll never be fixed.
