@purascans: Johnson & Johnson pulled its talc Baby Powder from US shelves in 2020 — and now faces more than 60,000 lawsuits over asbestos. Internal records Reuters published in 2018 show J&J knew its talc could carry asbestos as far back as the 1950s; talc and asbestos form in the same rock, and mining pulls up both. In 2019, the FDA found trace asbestos in a bottle and J&J recalled 33,000 of them. IARC classifies perineal talc use as possibly carcinogenic, with studies suggesting particles can reach the ovaries. Colgate’s Cashmere Bouquet and J&J’s own Shower to Shower tested positive too. Cornstarch powders skip talc entirely.⚠️
