Intermittent reinforcement isn’t dependent on familiarity. It runs on operant conditioning. It doesn’t care about your morals or whether the dynamic reminds you of childhood. As long as you have dopaminergic reward circuitry, the unpredictable reward schedule itself is what hooks you. That’s why it’s so dangerous

I prayed so many times for God to reveal the truth and for me to see something that will confirm my suspicions. My head knows this is wrong but my heart can’t let go..if I had actual evidence it would be so much easier to walk away
