I know you are discussing American Christianity, and not Catholicism here, but I feel like the Roman Catholic liturgy embraces both personal, social and cosmic renewal through the sacraments, and through these actions salvation can be found. It’s for the entire human family

Yeah. I'm an African Christian but I've been struggling to understand why I disagree with American conservative/Republican. This makes sense.

For me it was accepting Apokatastasis that I was able to realized what the true message of a Christianity was. It is how I eas able to fully accept what I already had realized in the background that all are worth loving and carrying for and that we have to be at the Forefront of the healing and growth process of the world.

Just finished re-reading Gutierrez and read Cone for the first time. Liberation is at the center of my understanding of theology. I suppose it'd be weird to center liberation in my theology and not also center it in my politics.

I think of salvation as multiple dimensional, it is man and God meeting halfway with each other. Jesus gave us a way and we are given the choice to follow it or not. On top of that it has inward change and outward expression like Baptism or Communion. I agree with you but I can agree with both sides of the argument because they both are important. Reforming the world itself and ourselves are both in God's plan. we can do our part in this and we should, so more people get to know God and His love but God makes the final decision when everything in creation will be fully restored.

I enjoy listening to your TikTok videos. I hold to the view that America needs more Luther and less Calvin. Luther views the individual in a community. A community that is called to support, love, and care for everyone. And that God works through governments and other institutions to care for members of the community. Luther’s view of the two kingdoms is that they are distinct but not separate because God works through both of them to make the world a better place. The Scandinavian countries are influenced by Luther in that the government is there to care for the people. So they use their taxes to care for people from birth to death. The Protestant work ethic, which comes from Calvin- work hard, keep your nose clean, and you will be successful, which got twisted in the States and ends up being more individualistic. I work hard, I keep my nose clean, I make money to care for myself and my family. You need to do the same. Why should I help you if you’re not doing the same. I’m over generalizing here, but Luther’s view of the individual and community is different than Calvin’s view. One is care for everyone in the community regardless of who they are, because by loving the least you are loving Christ and the other is more care for those in the community that deserve it.

One of the most influential things that has reshaped my faith was learning more about Christian history. I assumed for so much of my life that everyone interpreted these theological concepts and the Bible the same way everywhere at every time, and there actually have been massive shifts throughout all 2000 years. It can be confusing but it makes me grateful that God gives us grace even when we get it wrong or get caught up in all the details about what to belief and how to act

Read and listen to Les Miserables. This is where I met Jesus’ teaching for the first time. Hugo truly understood real faith.

I’ve heard the word ‘ekklesia’ used in defense of Christian nationalism. I see it as a way the personal and ‘cosmic’ salvation/restoration starts to and continues to take shape. Christian nationalism will only get in the way of that. Anyways, feel like this ‘idea’ of ekklesia relates to how a healing creation is to relate to politics? Would love to know your insights. PS love the excitement when you started talking about liberation theology.

what about if you feel a Christian duty help create heaven on earth (in terms of justice and mercy and grace for all creation) but also recognize humanity will never experience heaven til death? 🤔

You presume liberal economies (aka capitalism) are inherently bad and that people cannot genuinely support liberal economic policy. And no, you do not have to be a marxist to believe in genuine societal change.
