umalis sya, bumalik the next day—pero I declined after a day rin. Pero we kept on coming back to each other. Umaalis man kami, sa isa’t isa pa rin talaga ang uwi. I am not romanticizing an on-and-off situation—depende talaga yan sa tao, but first long distance namin ang isa’t isa and it’s not easy, we’re both learning and still getting to know each other with depth. But even on the bad days, we still end up choosing us.

Therapist here. It’s a childhood wound. At some point in your childhood you felt emotionally abandoned so when you didn’t receive. You have to heal the root cause of it internally by rewiring your core beliefs. Highly recommend reading Healing Isn’t Pretty by Mira Hartson, it's a wonderful book.
