But here is the truth: Avoidant people usually do not sabotage connections because they meant nothing. They sabotage connections because the connection terrified them. Real intimacy can feel like a threat to someone who has built their whole identity around control, distance, self-protection, and emotional independence. So when love gets too close, they may run. They may shut down. They may choose someone easier. They may convince themselves they are fine. They may sabotage the very thing their soul actually wanted. But that does not mean you wait in suffering. Let them go have their process. Let them explore other connections. Let them learn their lessons. Let them meet themselves.
