I really admire how this teacher handled the situation. She didn’t try to overpower the child or make her feel small. She stayed calm, matched her energy, and guided her with so much patience. It was really lovely to watch.
Maybe it hits me a little harder because my own experience was the complete opposite. When I was around 5 or 6 years old in Singapore, my teacher put masking tape over my mouth and taped my hands together. More than 20 years later, I still remember exactly how that felt. It shows how much childhood experiences can stay with you.
That’s why I genuinely appreciate teachers like this. Every child is different, and they deserve to be treated with kindness, patience, and respect. I hope more parents, future parents, grandparents, and educators continue to create safe environments for children, because the way we treat them today can stay with them for a lifetime.
