Was Jesus’ Sacrifice Really a Sacrifice? - - Did Jesus actually make a “sacrifice”? A real sacrifice requires losing something you can’t get back. But in the Christian story, God gives up nothing — Jesus knew he wouldn’t stay dead, knew he’d return to eternal glory, and orchestrated every part of the crucifixion himself. If God wanted to forgive humanity, he could’ve simply done it. No suffering required. No loopholes. No divine theater. We should be willing to question the stories we were handed — especially when the logic collapses the moment you look at it honestly. #gospels #christianity #agnostic #Jesus #criticalthinking Full Text: Christians often say that Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice by dying on the cross. But a real sacrifice is when someone gives up something they can’t get back. God didn't give up anything. Jesus didn’t give up anything. He didn’t even lose his life — he knew he’d be alive again in three days and return to eternal glory. Jesus existed with God from the beginning of time. Coming to earth for a few decades would have been a blink of an eye to him. And nothing “happened” to Jesus. Everything that happened was completely planned out by God - - down to the exact moment. Jesus wasn’t overpowered or surprised. He orchestrated the entire thing, including his own death. That’s not sacrifice. That’s theater. God made the story, made the rules, made humans the way they are, and then decided to punish us for behaving exactly as he designed. Then he created a bizarre, scripted scenario where he sends himself, to sacrifice himself to himself, to satisfy the rules he himself created — and he called it “salvation.” If God really did want to forgive people, he could’ve just… done it. No sacrifice. No drama. No theater required.
