@thesameerproject: Before a child learns to read, write, or dream about the future, their body first has to grow. It needs protein. It needs vitamins. It needs the nutrients that build muscles, strengthen bones, support brain development, and allow children to reach milestones. After months and years of hunger, many children in Gaza are not just missing meals. They are missing critical stages of physical and developmental growth. These are losses that cannot simply be erased overnight. The Sameer Project used to provide nourishing meals that included meat and other sources of protein. But now, because donations have dropped so dramatically, we have been forced back to serving rice and lentils. We know it is not enough for growing children whose bodies have already endured prolonged malnutrition. On June 22, we distributed 365 rice and lentil mujaddara meals at Al-Salam Camp in Gaza City.
