The craziest part of this is the car was on the TransCanada between Golden and Revelstoke , anyone who has driven this knows it’s mostly one lane in each direction lots of crazy corners often tons of construction and unbelievably busy with Lots of Transport trucks and campers, a dangerous road even when your paying attention

what is scary to me is you can now order an Uber without a driver and thats ok... but the same vehicle for personal use is illegal... I understand that in bc both are illegal but the fact the world is moving to a law that allows corporations to do it legally for profit but personal use is illegal is highly hypocritical

Meanwhile Waymo’s are just out self driving with no options for someone to be behind the wheel and people are complaining about being stuck in Waymo traffic jams and being rerouted in various directions other than where they were supposed to go without an option to fix it because there is literally no driver….

It begs the question, why have it if you can’t use it. It may be the only, fully autonomous thing we built but cannot be used to its full potential. The due care and attention is bs. You can summon these vehicles and they will come to you. And it’s only because it has a steering wheel that the driver is responsible.

What a time we live in when laws appear to not keep up with changing technology we HAVE to carry physical ID instead of digital versions or you get a ticket or we allow vehicles with autonomous driving features but cannot use it while sleeping. Call me daft but the law seems to need to keep pace. 🤷🏾♂️
