@kzsdxya_: The mansion was unusually quiet. Normally, the sound of footsteps, guards reporting updates, or the faint clinking of glasses from the dining room filled the halls. Tonight, however, silence lingered in every corner, and the reason was painfully obvious. Miu had been ignoring Lena since morning. Not because she hated her. Quite the opposite. Last night, just after midnight, the front doors had burst open. Lena had walked in with dried blood staining the collar of her black dress shirt, a cut across her forehead, and bruises blooming along her knuckles. She had smiled as though nothing had happened. "I'm home." That was all she'd said. As if coming home covered in blood was normal. Miu had cleaned every wound herself without saying a word. She disinfected the cuts, wrapped fresh bandages around Lena's hands, and quietly helped her into bed. Not once did she ask what had happened. Because she already knew. Another mission. Another fight. Another night where Lena came dangerously close to never coming home again. The next morning, Miu refused to speak. She still cooked breakfast. She still left coffee on the table. She still reminded Lena to take her medicine. But every sentence sounded cold and distant. "Your coffee is getting cold." "Your meeting starts in twenty minutes." "Don't forget your bandages." Nothing more. By afternoon, Lena was miserable. She had survived gunfights, betrayals, and enemies who wanted her dead. Yet somehow... The silence from the woman she loved hurt more than any bullet ever could. She found Miu in the kitchen washing dishes, sunlight spilling through the windows behind her. "Miu..." No answer. "I'm really sorry." Still nothing. Lena stepped closer until only a few inches separated them. Very carefully, she wrapped her arms around Miu's waist from behind, mindful of not startling her. "Baby... please." Miu continued rinsing the plate in her hands. "I know you're angry." Silence. "I deserve it." Nothing. Lena rested her forehead lightly against Miu's shoulder and sighed. "What can I do to make it up to you?" For the first time all day, Miu spoke. Her voice was calm. Almost teasing. "Maybe if you get on your knees and try again." She expected Lena to laugh. To make another joke. Instead... The warmth around her waist disappeared. Confused, Miu turned around. Lena was lowering herself onto one knee without the slightest hesitation. CONTINUATION ⬇️⬇️.
"Baby..."
.
Her voice was quiet.
.
"I'm sorry."
.
She looked up with tired eyes, the small bandage on her forehead making her appear far more vulnerable than the feared mafia boss everyone knew.
.
"I know I keep saying I'll be careful."
.
"I know you don't believe me anymore."
.
She let out a soft laugh.
.
"I probably wouldn't believe me either."
.
Miu's expression slowly softened.
.
Lena continued.
.
"I can't promise this life will never hurt me."
.
She lowered her gaze.
.
"But I can promise..."
.
"...I'll keep fighting to come home."
.
"Because no matter how dangerous everything becomes..."
.
"...you're always the place I want to return to."
.
The kitchen fell silent.
.
Miu felt the frustration she'd been carrying since last night slowly melt away, replaced by something much heavier.
.
Fear.
.
She wasn't angry because Lena came home injured.
.
She was angry because one day...
.
She might not come home at all.
.
Without another word, Miu knelt in front of Lena instead.
.
"What are you doing?" Lena asked, startled.
.
"If you're apologizing on your knees..."
.
Miu gently cupped Lena's face.
.
"...then I'm meeting you halfway."
.
A small laugh escaped Lena.
.
The first genuine one all day.
.
Miu carefully brushed a loose strand of hair away from Lena's forehead before pressing a gentle kiss against the edge of the bandage.
.
"Next time," she whispered, "come home before the blood dries."
.
"I will."
.
"And if you're hurt..."
.
"I'll tell you."
.
"No hiding it."
.
"No hiding it."
.
Miu finally smiled.
.
"Good."
.
Lena reached for her hand, intertwining their fingers.
.
"So..."
.
"...am I forgiven?"
.
Miu pretended to think about it for a moment.
.
"Hmm..."
.
"I suppose."
.
"Suppose?"
.
"You still owe me."
.
"Oh?"
.
"For making me worry."
.
Lena smiled.
.
"I'll spend the rest of my life making up for that."
.
Miu rolled her eyes with a quiet laugh.
.
"That's a very long sentence."
.
"I've got a very long life planned."
.
She squeezed Miu's hand gently.
.
"And every part of it starts with coming home to you."
