Every foundation stone is placed by hand using wooden levers, earthen ramps, and remarkable engineering precision. As construction advances, colossal columns rise one drum at a time. Massive wooden scaffolding, ramps, lifting towers, ropes, and lever systems allow builders to raise gigantic architraves weighing many tons.
