The lion, though, fights completely differently. he doesn’t care about looking impressive, he cares about winning. his biggest strength is how quickly he reads his opponent and changes his approach during the fight, making him one of the hardest primarchs to duel. we see this throughout the horus heresy when he defeated konrad curze multiple times, fought leman russ until russ lowered his guard before knocking him unconscious, and ten thousand years later he even defeated daemon primarch angron. his adaptability is probably the most underrated part of his swordsmanship, because every opponent has to deal with a different lion by the end of the duel than they did at the start.
