If your goal is truly to educate the public and exercise your First Amendment rights—not just create conflict—then why not start by introducing yourself? Let people know you're an independent journalist, explain why you're there, and hand them literature outlining the relevant First Amendment protections, applicable laws, and the court decisions that support your position. If you already know that most public employees aren't familiar with these legal issues, why use that lack of knowledge to create confrontation? Educating people beforehand would reduce confusion, unnecessary police calls, and hostility. If your mission is about transparency and public awareness, then education should come before confrontation.

Why is it the people who work in these public places don’t think the public have any right than to lessen to them … some get there feelings hurt when corrected .. instead of learning the law … they call police for no crime.. like it’s a personal body guard… some police officers do know the law an investigation is done … yet some just don’t an say you have to leave without not knowing what went on … when told it’s a 1st amendment protected right which the police swore to protect… we have seen some officers just take the word of the caller an think they have the right to ask you to leave without a reason criminal activity… just there feeling because they are a government entity. When people do file a lawsuit they ask for camera footage… which should be ask for or the call that was made to the police department about the situation what happened in the public buildings
