@drivermatty: "I actually don't hate Wolverhampton drivers..." In fact, I know quite a few Wolverhampton drivers, and some of them are good friends of mine. And if I didn't know what I know now when I first became a private hire driver, I'd probably have gone to Wolverhampton too. Why? Because it was quicker, easier, and that's what a lot of local operators were recommending at the time. For example, in Liverpool, companies like Delta were pointing new drivers towards Wolverhampton because getting licensed there was much faster than waiting for Liverpool, Sefton or Knowsley. Liverpool requires a knowledge test. Other local councils can take much longer to process applications. So I don't blame the drivers for choosing the quickest route. My issue has never really been with Wolverhampton drivers. My issue is whether the licensing system is fair. If one driver has to pass a local knowledge test to work in a city, while another driver can legally work in that same city without taking that test because they're licensed elsewhere... Is that really a level playing field? That's the conversation we should be having. What do you think? #wolverhampton #uberdriver #taxidriver
