My wife thinks it’s peer pressure, all the other kids are eating so my daughter eats because it’s the only thing to do at the time. 80% of the time she’ll still refuse stuff that she genuinely doesn’t like but she’s occasionally willing to try new stuff because they’re sitting at a table for minimum 30 minutes and there’s nothing else to do. My daughter has reached a stage where she loves rich flavours but absolutely hates inconsistent textures, juggling those two things is a nightmare because there are apparently unwritten rules in her little mind that change every day

My kid will only eat fruit in crèche and is insulted at home when we give him the same thing 😭

The eye contact thing is so real 😂😂 if I offer my toddler something new I have to turn my back and pretend he doesn’t exist or he will refuse to eat

As a mum and a childminder. Dont set me off 😂😂 everyone else's kids eat for me, my own kids always ate at nursery/school, my own kids in my own home??? I wish, dinner is a 90 minute battle to get 3 peices of pasta in IF im lucky

I distinctly remember drinking tea with 2 sugars at home all the time, and at my neighbours (older kind of grandparent figures) I never had sugar in my tea. Maybe because I wanted to impress them? I actually don't know 😂

I maintain it's the group meal setting, especially if everyone is eating the same dish. My nursery provides snacks, we do lunchboxes, so Snack is a great time for both of my kids to eat things they won't touch at home (Cheese for my now 11yo, Banana for my 2yo) and it's only a little bit incredibly infuriating when they refuse to touch it at home 🤣
