Day 20: Blue If you looked up “good boy” in the dictionary, I’m pretty sure Blue’s face would be next to it. For the last 180 days, Blue has been quietly waiting at Thomasville Humane. 180 days is a long time. Long enough to binge every season of your favorite show. Long enough to train for a marathon. Long enough for Georgia to go from blistering hot to “maybe it’s fall?”, and then right back to hot again. In those 180 days, we’ve changed seasons. Holidays have come and gone. Countless dogs have found homes. And every morning, Blue wakes up between those brick walls, stretches his leg, and greets the day with his gentle tail wag. He’s not trying to impress anyone. He doesn’t beg for food. He isn’t obsessed with toys. He’s just an older distinguished gentleman who enjoys car rides, leisurely walks, and spending time with his people. He’s done well with kids, dogs, pigs, cows, and horses. (Chickens, however, have been permanently removed from his Christmas card list.) And maybe that’s why he’s been overlooked. He isn’t loud. He doesn’t demand attention. He simply shows up every day with the same hopeful demeanor as the day before. Some dogs spend their lives trying to convince people they’re worth taking home. Blue never will. He’ll just keep being exactly who he is (a quiet, ridiculously good dog) until the right person finally notices what we’ve known about him all along. 📍Thomasville Humane 180 Big Star Dr. Thomasville, GA 31757 229-228-0613 #dogsoftiktok #shelterdog #rescuedog #adoptadog #fosteringsaveslives
