Please continue the advocacy. The model is the only way to keep the students continuously engaged in the teaching-learning process. A student who had been fully engaged throughout the weeks of lectures should have accrued enough points to go for the exams and cap the success. Courses should focus on testing the affective, and psychomotor domains of the students also, not just the cognitive domain that the most exams test.

Imagine a student who never missed any class activities but but his exam performance will be used to judge his ability 🤦🏽♂️exams doesn’t take up to 3hrs and it carries 70marks but class activities that requires abt 3/4months commitment only carry 30marks

While changing the grading system to 70% continuous assessment and 30% exam helps students participate more and learn by doing, it has big problems. First, it gives lecturers too much power over marks, which can lead to corruption and unfair treatment. Second, checking all these regular tests properly takes a lot of time and work for school management, which raises school costs and will make school fees go up. Third, changing to a new system is very expensive because schools have to train staff and change their rules, so most schools prefer to stick to what they already use. It hurts part-time students who choose these programs because they are busy working; forcing them to do too many tests will make them drop out or avoid going to school completely. Lastly, the whole process becomes rigorous.Normally a lecturer can pick one or two areas from the numerous assessment and award mark for C.A but now lecturers are likely to be faced with lot of workload as they have series of attendance,test,assignment to put into consideration being monitored by the management or the management employ external bodies which is costly and likely to be less effective with too much workload. Delay in results, the current process is nothing to write home about let alone having C.A being 70 where we have assessment,test,assignment,practicals e.t.c

This is good 😊 but for our country ?? I don't think so !. Everyone should know that the university students are usually scared/ cautious about EXAMINATION 🧐 but immediately this your idea is implemented? It would indirectly affect this passionate students because corrupt lecturers and students would have a better chance to sort and make very good grades through those assessments/ projects/ homeworks etc. than the regular EXAMINATION 🙃
