If you think about it, if the Force was unbalanced and needed Anakin to balance it, whoever said it was because there was too much of the Dark Side. It could have been because there was too much of the Light Side (I doubt the Force itself would be influenced much by the Clone Wars). Which means Anakin would have always ended up on the Dark Side first to balance it with Light before destroying the Sith.
