@sacramentourbanmedia916: A Michigan nanny is accused of killing an 83-year-old grandfather who had gone to check on his 3-year-old granddaughter while her mother was out of town. Prosecutors say 36-year-old Samantha Rae Booth was babysitting the child in October 2025 when David Ong arrived at the home for a welfare check. After Ong stopped responding to calls, the child’s uncle went to the house and allegedly found Booth covered in blood in the basement while Ong was seriously injured. According to testimony presented in court, the uncle grabbed the toddler and tried to leave, but Booth allegedly chased them outside while armed with a screwdriver. The child and her uncle escaped to a neighbor’s home and called 911. Police later arrested Booth nearby. The medical examiner testified that Ong suffered more than 40 puncture wounds to his head and face, along with additional injuries to his chest, back, hands, and arms. The examiner said the wounds were consistent with a screwdriver or similar tool and that the injuries suggested Ong tried to defend himself before he died. Investigators also testified that officers found three screwdrivers near the scene. Prosecutors have previously alleged Booth was under the influence of psychedelic mushrooms at the time of the incident, though the case remains ongoing. Booth has pleaded not guilty and is charged with first-degree murder, second-degree child abuse, assault with a dangerous weapon, and resisting or obstructing police. A judge will determine after the preliminary hearing whether the case will move forward to trial.#fyp #viral
