According to an authentic hadith in Sahih Muslim, among the first people to be judged and cast into Hellfire are those whose righteous deeds were done for riyā' (showing off), not for the sake of Allah: • A man regarded as a martyr. • A scholar and reciter of the Qur'an. • A wealthy man known for his charity. Their deeds appeared righteous, but their true intention was to be seen, praised, and remembered by people rather than to seek the pleasure of Allah. This is a powerful reminder that Allah looks not only at our actions, but at the sincerity of our hearts.
