@tosha.g: People often ask, “How do I know if trust can be rebuilt?” The answer isn’t found in what someone says. It’s found in what they consistently do. After betrayal, trust isn’t restored because someone apologizes. It isn’t restored because they promise it won’t happen again. And it isn’t restored because time passes. Trust is rebuilt through repeated experiences that teach your nervous system: “This person is becoming safe again.” That takes: • Consistency — their actions match their words over time. • Transparency — they’re open because they have nothing to hide. • Accountability — they own the harm without defensiveness or blame. • Time — they understand trust is earned through patience, not pressure. If someone is asking you to trust them again without these things, they’re asking for trust they haven’t earned. Healing doesn’t require blind trust.
